         well known round the night clubs. He had dressed himself in tails
         and top hat, and swung a cane. His face was comically made up as
         a minstrel, with a great white-outlined mouth. He jumped the fence,
         ignoring the Department of Civil Aviation's ruling that nobody
         could be allowed on the tarmac area, and began to march up and down
         in front of the line of policemen standing stolidly along the fence,
         backs to the crowd."
